The weather settled over the weekend to end up with flat calm seas making it very pleasant on the surface. After the high winds and rough seas, this was welcomed by the divers that's for sure. Visibility wasn't as bad as many predicted. With very muddy water on the surface, once under this the viz opened up to about 6 metres on the Gneering Shoals. Viz on the HMAS BRISBANE was down to about 4 metres but is already on the improve. With the sound of whales once again and dolphins surfacing around thee wreck, it made for a great dive. Water temp is still sitting on 19C and conditions for the weekend look like improving even more. So don't miss the calmer sea conditions while we have the south westerlies with us.
If the water is just a little chilly, then maybe it's time to have a look at a new wetsuit. A new suit will always be warmer than your old one as the neoprene in a new suit is fresh and hasn't lost its "memory". Each time you dive, your suit gets compressed as you go deeper. On surfacing, the neoprene should bounce back to its original thickness. After time, the "memory" fades (it even happens to neoprene) and hence the suit doesn't have the same thickness and therefore looses its warmth. A new suit will certainly fix that problem. It just so happens that we have a great range to choose from, so come on in and check them out. Just arrived, the new Cressi Atlantis semi dry!!!
Dive Safe.
