Dive HMAS Brisbane Report update 2nd - 9th May 2009

DIVE Report

The big swells have eased and the strong winds have eased over the past week so diving has been in full swing once again. The poor weather has been persistent, however now there seems to be some hope on the horizon.

Latest Coast Weather Forecast

Of the dive trips we have taken to the HMAS BRISBANE recently, customers have been really enthused about the diving in spite of the low viz. The thing that has blown them away is the amount of fish life. It is always cleaner inside the wreck than outside, but you have had to literally part the fish, inside the ship, to be able to see, so that you can swim through it. The huge grouper have been spotted on the main deck, and plenty of other varieties are on and about the ship.

Visability has been as low as a couple of metres on the reef and on the ship but today, Saturday, viz was up to 5 metres in both those areas. Some good news is that on the Inner Gneerings today, we saw some crystal clear water on the surface for the top 10 metres. This has been pushed through by the south easterlies and is a good sign for the HMAS BRISBANE tomorrow. There should be clear water over at least the top deck by tomorrow morning. From there, things can only get better to dive HMAS Brisbane.
